The 36 Rules of Life…

Filed under: Random — Christina @ 1:29 am

I thought this was funny, so figured I’d share:

The 36  Rules of Life:

1. Never, under any circumstances, take a sleeping pill and a laxative on the same night.

2. Don’t worry about what people think, they don’t do it very often.

3. Going to church doesn’t make you a Christian anymore than standing in a garage makes you a car.

4. Artificial intelligence is no match for natural stupidity.

5. If you must choose between two evils, pick the one you’ve never tried before.

6. My idea of housework is to sweep the room with a glance.

7. Not one shred of evidence supports the notion that life is serious.

8. A person who is nice to you but rude to the waiter, is not a nice person.

9. For every action, there is an equal and opposite government program.

10. If you look like your passport picture, you probably need the trip.

11. Bills travel through the mail at twice the speed of checks.

12. A conscience is what hurts when all of your other parts feel so good.

13. Eat well, stay fit, die anyway.

14. Men are from earth. Women are from earth. Deal with it.

15. No man has ever been shot while doing the dishes.

16. A balanced diet is a muffin in each hand.

17. Middle age is when broadness of the mind and narrowness of the waist change places.

18. Opportunities always look bigger going than coming.

19. Junk is something you’ve kept for years and throw away three weeks before you need it.

20. There is always one more imbecile than you counted on.

21. Experience is a wonderful thing. It enables you to recognize a mistake when you make it again.

22. By the time you can make ends meet, they move the ends.

23. Thou shalt not weigh more than thy refrigerator.

24. Someone who thinks logically provides nice contrast to the real world.

25. It ain’t the jeans that make your butt look fat.

26. If you had to identify in one word, the reason why the human race has not achieved its full potential, that word would be ‘meetings.’

27. There is a very fine line between ‘hobby’ and ‘mental illness.’

28. People who want to share their religious views with you almost never want you to share yours with  them.

29. You should not confuse your career with your life.

30. Nobody cares if you can’t dance well. Just get up and dance.

31. Never lick a steak knife.

32. The most destructive force in the universe is gossip.

33. You will never find anybody who can give you a clear and compelling reason why we observe daylightsavings time.

34. You should never say anything to a woman that even remotely suggests that you think she’s pregnant unless you can see an actual baby emerging from her at that moment

35. The one thing that unites all human beings, regardless of age, gender, religion, economic status or ethnic background, is that deep down inside we ALL believe we are good drivers.

36. Your friends love you anyway.

Decisions…and a confession…

Dillon’s school picture.  When he took them, he had a pretty bad scar on his face next to his eye.  The picture came out okay, but now the scar is completely gone.  Should I risk taking a retake?  If the retake comes out worse than this one, there’s no going back.  Hmmm…

As for the confession, I gotta admit, a lot of the reason that I’ve been neglecting my blog is that I’ve been wrapped up playing freaking “gangster battle” on facebook.  Anyone have a facebook?  Join my gangster family!!  Hahahaha…

How Sad…

Filed under: Random — Christina @ 2:10 am

Not one single post for the entire month of October…and it was such a BUSY month too!  Maybe that explains it.  Now that I’m thinking about it, I can’t really recall what it was that I was doing, lol.  Well, first off, I started to really work on Dillon’s school website, lots of Sharepoint training, not that it’s totally necessary.  I don’t care what people say, I like Microsoft.  It does what I need it to do and I find it completely user-friendly.  But anyway.  Dillon’s birthday was on the 20th.  We took him to Discovery Kingdom (aka Marine World) on the 18th with the cousins.  I think I’ll write a post about his birthday celebrations seperately and back-date it so it looks like I kept a little current 😉

Also, my lesbian aunt and her partner of 21 years got married on the 25th, and I got to be THE photographer.  Bummer that the Prop passed and (for now anyway) no more gay couples will be allowed to get married, but I hope they honor the marriages that were performed before it passed.  Anyway, that day merits its own (back-dated) post also, although it might be a while before I get to it.  You can see some of the photos from my Flickr though.

Then, of course, there was Halloween, which meant a field trip to the pumpkin patch, a carnival and parade at the school and trick-or-treating at Lib’s this year since it was a Friday and we could stay out late.  I much prefer going there to staying in the city, I don’t care how far it is.  I think Halloween should have it’s own post also, that makes 3 for October, yay!

So today is November 13, not too bad.  November has been pretty uneventful.  Dillon started swimming at St. Ignatius CP Sunday mornings.  Freaking 945am, the only time available.  img_7368img_7348

He does good though, and right after we go eat dim sum on Clement, the timing is perfect, before it gets really packed.  Initially I had wanted him to swim at 11:15 with his cousin, but I guess I’ll keep him at this time.

So that’s been it, nothing special, just life.  Bring Dillon to school, play with Alex all day, run errands, go shopping (she is a POWER shopper!), pick him up, let them play, come home, help Dillon with homework, cook dinner, bathe them, put them to bed.  God, it should become routine and automatic but it still drains me every single day.
