Ghetto photography..
Well, lighting anyway. I came across this blog post a while ago, and recently was talking to Debbie about how to photograph our cards to look nice, like the Taylored Expressions blog, so I decided to give the DIY lightbox a try. Haha, well, here’s my version (okay, actually HBY did all the work

And I used an old wrinkly poster board that I had laying around, so sad. To test it out, I took pictures of the cards I made last night at Debbie’s

I had so much fun playing with our new markers, can you tell? And these are the cards that Daphne made and “shared” with us

The pictures came out pretty good I think, and I didn’t even use the flash, I was in too much of a hurry to test out the box. Pretty good, and I just used a janky box HBY had laying around, duct tape and some tissue paper. So for future use, I just need a new poster board and to use the speedlite and we’re all set…

Oh! And…
what’s up with the weather today? It’s crazy, it wasn’t even really warm yesterday, just all of a sudden last night was a little warm and then this morning, I went out to bring Dillon to school and couldn’t believe it was so warm at 730 in the morning. Supposed to be hotter tomorrow? Uggh. I thought living in San Francisco would protect me from all this warm weather, lol.
Something Funny…
I was blog-hopping and came across Elsie Flanagan’s blog (of KI Memories’ Love, Elsie line) and got caught up. Her blog is really fun and full of creative ideas and inspiration. So two things I got from her blog:

I thought that picture was so funny, I had to steal it…and two: THIS SITE. Lots of cute stuff…

New Stuff from Michael’s

Cute, right? AND it was 50% off all boxed kits! So of course I bought one, even though I have no idea what I’m going to use it for. And the paper pads were 40% off, so I got one in the same line.

Now all I have to do is figure out what to do with them
On another note…sometimes when I plug my memory card into my computer, there will be random images on there of HBY’s damn fish. Sometimes even videos – like minutes long – of the fish just swimming around. How retarded. But I decided to post a couple of the pictures here:

What an ugly thing. I don’t know if you can tell how big it is, it’s about 7 inches long and more than 4 inches high. It bullies all the other fish in the tank, but when Alex goes to over to the tank and slaps the glass really hard it bolts to the corner. HBY gets all pissed off when she does that, hahahahahaha

Maker Faire in San Mateo
Just posting a pic that John took of the 3 of us (me, Debbie and Daph) at the Maker Faire this past Saturday. Me with a funnel cake, of course. Not nearly as good as the ones at Great America or Bonfante Gardens
Damn, I really HATE being the shortest…

Flashback
I wanted to compare the two balloon-filled occasions, lol. This was Dillon’s 2nd birthday:

He was so happy when he woke up and saw all those balloons. I wonder if he really remembers, or that’s just the funnest thing he could think of for his dad. He’s really sweet.
And this was how Hby’s looked:
Yeah, that’s about fair
And the poor babygirl hasn’t gotten a balloon-filled room yet. But so what, neither have I.

HBY’s Happy 32nd Birthday
Here’s Dillon blowing up one, he did good but couldn’t tie it himself so Pristina or I had to do it for him (after wiping off all the slobber)…
And here’s Alex with “the hooray”, as she calls it. It still cracks me up when she says it…
I wanted to get a picture of them with all the decorations and the one Happy Birthday banner up, but we were not having an easy time of it…
I like the natural light look, and this is what Pristina could come up with:
That was the best she could do, and you can’t even see the balloons really. So I took over. And these were the best I could do:

That one would have been really cute if it wasn’t blurry, so finally I gave in and used the flash. This is what happened:
I have NO IDEA what that expression is on Dillon’s face. I was so annoyed I just gave up. And this was Pristina’s bright idea
Haha, what a dork.
So anyway, finally HBY gets home from working all day, and the baby got to give him his present:
Dns came over later in the evening, but they couldn’t even really hang out because Hby had to sleep kinda early since he had to work early the next morning. Poor guy…

Daphne’s recipe for easy bake chicken…
…and it was a HIT! I didn’t have parsley so I used basil instead, without even knowing if the two tasted similar or not, but must not have made a difference. It was so easy to prepare (make sauce, slap the chicken in the baking dish, brush the sauce on, stick in the oven)! The baby loved it, ate all the chicken I put on her plate, and that’s rare she normally doesn’t care to eat too much meat, plus she had already eaten with Dillon earlier.
Pristina and Hby both loved it. Everyone loved it except…well, me, of course. Haha, sorry but unless it’s the fried skin, I do not like chicken at all. But at least I know I can always make that chicken for everyone and have my favorite vienna sausages and over-easy eggs over rice meal for dinner
As an aside, I looked at the number of posts for April and it made me laugh. On April 4, I was already on my 3rd post so I was thinking “wow, I’m going to have at least 20 posts this month”, haha. Let’s see how I can do for May…

Just Testing…
.flickr-photo { border: solid 2px #000000; }.flickr-yourcomment { }.flickr-frame { text-align: left; padding: 3px; }.flickr-caption { font-size: 0.8em; margin-top: 0px; }
I was testing the upload video function on Flickr to see how long it would take. This video didn’t take long to upload, but it’s probably only about 10 seconds anyway. This is Pristina coaching Alex, like she always does.
Flickr also has an option to “Blog this” from any photo or video that I have uploaded. You just click the button, and a form opens up right beside the photo/video on the Flickr page and you enter your title and post and it automatically adds it to the blog. So I decided to try that out also, which is why it’s here (if this works).
